I think today was technically supposed to be my last day but since we are leaving on Wed anyways I had decided that I might as well make Tuesday the last day.
Deciding on a picture knowing there will only be two more was not easy. I tried to just keep on keeping on rather than trying to make sure I get the best ones in before the end.
I'm experiencing sadness and doubt about bringing this to an end. Though, one thing I have discovered about myself within the last 10 years is that I don't like to leave things hanging. I don't like to just stop without a word, and most especially without taking responsibility within myself for that ending.
I do not like that kind of gutless passivity in myself or in others.
I regret the friendships and unfinished projects in my past that I knew were finished but allowed to taper off without firmly stating, "This is finished." It's never been an easy thing to do but it seems like the right thing.
Song: "Oh Yoko" John Lennon.
Another view in colour over here.
I loved those median bumps and used them as a design element in a bunch of shots.
Sorry if this big pic screws up my site.
This link is for a friend who says she prefer the sound of Elliott Smith live to the studio recordings. I like this show because he does not sound out of it and the recording is clean.
My brother's Footprints team is cohosting an event tonight featuring Mr. Scruff. 10pm at Revival 783 College Street.
Davin made a book of his photos called "I Have Been Where You Are" that is now available. I am very proud of him. It's a beautiful collection of images. Being a designer, he went above and beyond organizing them in a way that is both aesthetically pleasing and illustrates where he has been going in photography over the last few years. Websites are nice but the emotional impact is so much more when the work is edited down and presented together in print form. Books are good.
I designed cross stitch bookmark kits as holiday gifts for some of the crafty pals/commuters in my life this year. As a Holiday Treat I thought I'd make the pattern available as a freebee for anyone who wants to make their own bookmark.
Dudes: You are free to use this pattern to make your own bookmarks, but please do not sell finished projects or the pattern.
Note: My grid is exactly sized to a cross stitch bookmark/doily deal that has a very tight weave (18 count) but you can use any aida fabric and forego the doily action. Fabric with lower numbers (for example 14) are easier for beginners but I should say that I had not cross stitched since grade 4 prior to designing and stitching up this project and I did okay so don't feel intimidated. I'm sure some cross stitch whizzes out there would be horrified by the state of the back of my bookmark but whatever....
I used the most excellent pixel font Unibody for my design and the always wonderful Davin must be credited for his work plotting the squiggley shape after I had all but given up on making it happen.
